Horror Review: Hush (2016)

A deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.

I love it when I stumble upon a film and it just blows you away, this film did that to me.

One thing I have to say straight away is how much I loved the writing for this film, it was very clever and wasn't scared to take a few risks that ended up paying off extremely well.

One thing you'll realise straight away is that there isn't a lot of dialogue, it's a movie you have to pay attention to and it does more than enough to keep your eyes glued to the screen and again it's a risky move that pays off.

The performances from the cast are great and I was shocked to learn that the whole flick was filmed in 18 days. The director and lead lady are a married couple and cowrote the film and I feel that there chemistry is evident here.

The film is so minimalistic that it's highly refreshing to see as a fan of the genre, I was enthralled by it and I have a lot of respect for it as it went against the norm and tried to do something different and it succeeded.

"Hush" is a true gem, a rarity of a film, I highly recommend you give it a watch.

  1. I absolutely love this movie. Such an under the radar film. I thought it was really brilliant. Have you watched the 2014 film Kristy, I thought it was a real good one also.

  2. Kristy was a great film! Another that went under the radar.
