31 Days Of Horror: Day 20 - Mum & Dad (2008)

Stranded at work and with no hope of getting home, airport cleaning woman Lena accepts an invitation to spend the night with her perky colleague Birdie.

British Horror, you've just gotta love it.

This film actually passed me by until recently, it happens to all of us at some point. I found it lurking in a bargain bin and decided I should give it a watch, I wasn't expecting what I saw.

The film wears its influences  on it's sleeve and that's never a bad thing, imagine if you crossed "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "The People Under The Stairs" with the English show "The Royle Family" and that's what you get.

The story takes us into a dark, gritty and disturbing world, which is all thanks to director and writer Steven Sheil. It's brought alive by an amazing cast and crew, the effects team did a fantastic job with this feature.

The cast is a perfect mixture, Perry Benson who plays "Dad" really creeped me out. Which reminds me, this film is NOT for the weak or squeamish!

"Mum & Dad" is a great showcase of modern British Horror, get it watched.
