Top Ten Fathers Day Horror Films

As today is Fathers Day I thought I'd make a list of some of the best Horror films with memorable performances of Father characters. So here's my list, the list is not in a favouritism order:

Pet Sematary (1989)
What lengths would a Father go to if he lost his young son in a tragic accident? Well as we know from the classic "Pet Semetary", Louis Creed is willing to bury his dead son in an indian burial ground to bring him back to life.

The People Under The Stairs (1991)
Now this truly is one creepy character. "Daddy" is obsessed with money and power and a few other things such as keeping kidnapped children locked in the basement.

The Shining (1980)
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Who can forget the rampage Jack Torrance went on with his trusty axe, even chasing his son down with bad intentions.

Creepshow (1982)
A woman who is taking care of her abusive elderly father, kills him in a fit of rage while shouting “Happy Father’s Day!”. That's one way of showing your Dad how much you care.

Amityville Horror (1979)
Poor George Lutz, he just wants his family to be happy and thinks he's found a dream home at a bargain price. There is a reason for that low price George....

The Stepfather (1987)
Jerry Blake seems like a dream guy for widower Stephanie. Always remember people be cautious of something or someone, especially when it seems to be TOO good.

Session 9 (2001)
Gus Gilbert, hard working Father and loving husband. Or is he? I'll not ruin this one for any of you who haven't seen it.

Eraserhead (1977)
Henry Spencer is not happy about his girlfriends pregnancy, feeling that he has to marry her because of it doesn't help. Things don't get better once the child is born.

28 Weeks Later (2007)
Poor Don, A useless husband and even more useless father. Once he does get his second chance things don't get any better for him.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Many people talk about "Leatherface" when discussing this classic, you should also remember Jim Siedow's great performance as his Dad. A terrible father and a terrifying character.

I know I've missed a few characters, so tell me who's your favourite Father character in Horror?
