Horror Review: Kill Theory (2009)

Whilst celebrating a graduation at a secluded vacation home, a group of college students find themselves targeted by a sadistic killer who forces them to play a deadly game of killing one another in order to survive.

I stumbled upon this film knowing nothing about it at all, actually I knew it was part of the Afterdark Horrorfest 4 releases, but that's it. After seeing some great movies from the Afterdark releases I decided to give this one a viewing.

It's easy to see where this film is heading after the opening scene, you don't have to be a genius to watch a Slasher film, that's why there so appealing and fun to watch, that's part of the appeal.

This film was a straight to DVD release, I find most films that are dumped to straight to DVD are better than many theatrical releases these days and this film is proof of that theory.

The story has a familiar feel to films such as "SAW" and "The Collector", just with more of a sadistic killer. It's a very tense film that hardly ever lets down, yes it's slow at first but once things start it's non-stop thrills, scares and twists.

The effects in the film are very well done and for a slasher film the script and dialogue are very strong. Also the kills are quite inventive and can be quite brutal.

This film slipped under the radar but if you do enjoy a good Slasher film then I highly recommend it.
